We've all had our butts kicked by the world around us--probably more so today than in a long time, for a great many of us. Michele's collection of short poetry says concisely, and without reservation what we all find ourselves thinking. Michele's dicey, comedic, view of life mixed with John Crowther's illustrations make this a delightful read and a must addition to your collection. It's great with coffee or bedtime.Product details

SnarkyKu eBook Michelle Shy John Crowther Sandra de Helen Reviews
I would have felt guilty enjoying these Snarkus so much if hadn't been laughing so hard. I recognized my own snarky self and and every other snarky person I have ever met. Michelle Shyman has a way of getting to the truth of any situation -and she prefers negative situations. This collection of poems is a unique treasure. Great idea for a holiday gift that can be delivered on-line to the far corners of the diaspora of snarks!
The price of this book is misleading as it led me to expect a little throw-away fluff. Instead, Snarkyku is intelligent, funny, entertaining, and moving on a level of serious poetry. It is unforgettable, and I look forward to the next books with eager anticipation.
Michelle Shy's senryus have a combination of intense impact, incisive commentary and poetic craft that sets her work apart. Not sparing a single excess word in her meaning-packed poems, she sets about carving out a clear critique of modern social life and perhaps the human race, one razor-sharp poem at a time. Underneath the fast wit, the original images, and the hilarious portraits, there is a sense of sadness and loss. This book of poems revels deliriously in its love of language and sense of parody, all the while exposing the ridiculous ways in which we have chosen to treat each other and squander our potential.
This is fun stuff. Also informational. Reading it is like eating Oreo cookies, hard to stop. It is wry commentary on life in these trying times. It could have been called "Occupy Senryu".
I am a fan of Nicole Hollander and Sylvia cartoons and this book is so funny in a similar way! You'll laugh, you'll cry! You will smile at these bittersweet witticisms and cryptic poems.
What a joy! Apparently from a deliciously warped mind. I keep reading it; I keep loving it.
and SnarkyKu totally fits the bill. I've been following these on Twitter for a while and it's nice to have them all in the same place. Some have a tinge of sad, but all have the snark that we all need once in a while. Lovely illustrations make me glad I didn't pass this up. Make sure you check out DogKu, CatKu and WhatHaveU as well ...
